  • What can I expect from up-cycled, hand painted furniture?"
Previously loved furniture can be full of character and charm, there are often signs of a previous life and sentimental history. Do not expect a perfect factory finish. These imperfections along with the creative design are what make each piece truly unique. Where necessary, the furniture is repaired, before being thoroughly cleaned, primed and painted and then sealed with wax or varnish.
  • What type of paint do you use and what finish does it provide?
We use a variety of quality furniture paint and supplies to ensure each piece is expertly hand painted to a high standard. Paints such as Dixie Belle Silk ‘All-in-One’ Mineral and Fusion Mineral Paints are great for modern and smooth finishes. Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint are fantastic for a more shabby-chic, farmhouse finish as they are easier to blend and distress.
  • How do I care for my new piece of furniture?
Although care is taken to ensure the paint is sealed with a suitable and robust top coat in the form of wax or varnish, it can take up to 30 days for the paint finish to fully cure and become hardened against scratches and bumps. Ongoing care and maintenance is required to keep your piece looking fantastic. Please always use coasters and places mats. Clean up spills as soon as they happen with a damp cloth. Do not use any abrasive substances or cloths on the furniture. If your piece has been finished with a furniture wax it will need periodic waxing depending on usage. The wax is absorbed by the wood to keep it hydrated and the colour sharp.
